A Select Few

I am aware that this isn’t everyone’s message. I’m not going to resonate in the hearts and minds of everybody, and that’s okay with me. God has called me to reach a select few—a special group of women, mothers, and daughters alike—with my testimony. So if I’m not for you, that’s fine. Keep on scrolling. But if I’m speaking to you, it’s because it’s the God in me. God wants you to know that you can come to Him exactly as you are.

A stripper, a prostitute, a teacher, a mentor, a philanthropist, an activist, a feminist, a broken child, a rape victim, a domestic abuse victim, a survivor, a traumatized spirit and soul, an alcoholic, a drug addict, a homeless person, a gambling addict, someone on the brink of suicide, someone just trying to figure out who they are in life and what their purpose is, or someone indulging in self-sabotaging behaviors—I am here for you. I am your person. If I am speaking to you, it’s because I’m supposed to. God is ready for you to come to Him just as you are. He doesn’t care about your past, so neither should you. Come to Him. Pour out your soul. I’m going to pour out my soul, my story, my spirit, my faith, my mind, and my knowledge to everyone who can read, write, and listen.

For anyone with just one ounce of strength left, with just one punch or one swing left in them before they feel like they’re going to fall, I’m talking to you. Baby, fall—but fall forward. Les Brown says, “Always fall on your back because if you can look up, you can get up.”

Even when you give up on yourself, I’m here to testify that God will never give up on you. He’s here, waiting for you to come to Him exactly as you are.

Lord, forgive me, for these are my confessions.
