“Real Talk” is more than just an organization; it’s a beacon of hope and transformation for the community in Las Vegas. Founded by philanthropist & author, Sheree D. Corniel, “Real Talk” addresses the root causes of social issues, fostering a space for open, honest conversations and community-driven solutions. Sheree’s vision is to create a supportive environment where individuals can share their stories, heal from their pasts, and find actionable paths forward.
“Real Talk” offers a range of services, including therapeutic sessions, educational workshops, and community outreach programs, all designed to empower and uplift those who are often overlooked. One of the core initiatives of “Real Talk” is bridging the gap between mental health and community wellness. By providing accessible therapy and support groups, Sheree and her team are making a significant impact on the mental health landscape of Las Vegas. They focus on trauma-informed care, recognizing that healing is a holistic process requiring addressing both the mind and the community.
As a trauma specialist and Certified Trauma-Release Yoga Instructor, my expertise lies in utilizing trauma yoga to help individuals heal from past traumas. While my services aren’t directly provided through “Real Talk,” they are aligned with empowering youth by promoting mental and emotional well-being. This aligns with “Real Talk’s” mission to uplift and support the community through comprehensive mental health initiatives. My experience as a trauma specialist contributes to my role as a credible motivational speaker for their youth, offering insights and strategies to support their journey toward personal growth and resilience.
Additionally, “Real Talk” plays a crucial role in grassroots leadership, encouraging locals to take active roles in their neighborhoods. Through mentorship programs and leadership training, Sheree is cultivating the next generation of community leaders equipped to tackle social challenges head-on. Philanthropy is another cornerstone of “Real Talk.” Sheree’s commitment to giving back is evident in the various charitable activities and partnerships she has established. From food drives to educational scholarships, “Real Talk” is dedicated to supporting those in need and fostering a culture of generosity and solidarity.
Las Vegas locals can support “Real Talk” in several ways:
1. Volunteering: Give your time to support the various programs and events organized by “Real Talk.”
2. Donations: Financial contributions are always welcome and go directly towards funding essential services and expanding outreach efforts.
3. Partnerships: Businesses and organizations can collaborate with “Real Talk” to create a more significant impact through joint initiatives and sponsorships.

I am honored to support “Real Talk” and will continue to highlight their incredible work in our community. Together, we can make a difference and create a brighter future for everyone in Las Vegas.
Why I Want to Speak at Real Talk
My name is Tiara Christopher, and my journey is a testament to resilience and the power of transformation. Growing up in foster care and dealing with poor parental relationships shaped much of my early life, teaching me survival skills that I never thought I would need as an adult. My journey took an unexpected and drastic turn on September 3, 2022, when an argument with my partner escalated, leading to my arrest. This incident was a stark reminder of the racial injustices deeply embedded in our judicial system.
I spent three excruciating days in jail, constantly worrying about my nine-month-old daughter. Upon my release, I found myself homeless, with my partner having emptied my bank account and canceled our lease. For five months, I lived out of my car, panhandling for food. Despite these relentless challenges, I found strength in God and support from some family members. My journey was fraught with suffering, but I emerged stronger, determined to turn my pain into purpose.
I fought a tough battle for custody of my child and, despite the odds, became a certified yoga instructor, a trauma specialist, and completed a degree in psychology. My journey was filled with suffering, but I emerged stronger. I want my daughter to see that I didn’t just sit with my tail tucked between my legs—I evolved. This experience tried to break me, but I didn’t break—I bent and grew stronger.
Sharing my story at “Real Talk” means more than just recounting my experiences. It’s about showing the youth in our community that no matter where you come from or what you’ve been through, there is always hope and a path forward. I want to be their monthly speaker because I believe in the power of shared experiences to inspire and transform lives. Speaking to the youth, especially those who come from similar upbringings, is a way for me to give back and help break generational curses for mothers and daughters alike.
At “Real Talk,” I can connect with the youth on a deep level, discussing not just my arrest but how I transformed my life afterward. It’s about allowing them to hear someone who had a similar upbringing make it against all odds. My goal is to show them that change is possible, and their past does not define their future. I am committed to being a beacon of hope, just as “Real Talk” is for our community.
In sharing my truth, I aim to empower others to find their strength and resilience. Together, with organizations like “Real Talk,” we can make a significant impact and create a brighter future for everyone in Las Vegas.
