A Distracted Society: Rediscovering the Missing Elements of Humanity and Awareness

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” — Martin Luther King Jr.

As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.” This resonates deeply with me because I believe the lack of humanity and awareness in our society today is the darkness we need to combat. Only by bringing love, light, and understanding can we drive out this darkness. My mission is to be that light and invite others to join me in spreading awareness, empathy, and unity—starting right here in our own community.

I am both the teacher and the student. Let me break it down: I am a lifelong learner 📚. After earning my second degree in Communication, I thought I was done. But this third degree in Psychology has shown me—you’re never done learning. Life continues to teach us, through every cultural, psychological, systemic, and environmental difference 🌍. I’ve realized it’s not just about acquiring knowledge—it’s about sharing it, as I learn, with others 👩🏾‍🏫.

I’ve been called to shed light on two things that are missing from today’s society: humanity and awareness 🧠. We live in a time where people are more concerned with likes, views, and the approval of strangers they’ll never meet 💻. It’s time to shift the focus. It’s time to bring back what truly matters.

I’m starting right here in Las Vegas, in Clark County. Our community is failing when it comes to unity and understanding. But I know there is strength in numbers 💪🏾. I am the change I want to see in the world, and I invite you to join me in this mission to bring back humanity and awareness—one step at a time.

Clark County, let’s lead by example. Let’s bring humanity and awareness back into our everyday lives. Together, we can make a difference ✨.

Currently, I hold an A.A. in Speech and Rhetoric, a B.A. in Communication, and I’ll complete my B.A. in Psychology by May 2025 🎓. I’m also certified in trauma yoga, child development yoga, anxiety yoga, and prenatal yoga 🧘🏾‍♀️. Education is pivotal; it’s like air to me. God uses education to keep me busy, and I love this kind of busy work 🙌🏾.
