What’s the story behind your nickname?

My childhood nickname, Tete, was given to me by my grandmother. My sister’s nickname is Nene, and my cousin’s is Riah-Riah. We all have similar nicknames.

I always tell people who met me as a teenager or later, “Do not call me Tete.” You have to be my family or childhood friend to use that name. You probably know me as Cali or Zen—my stripper alter egos. Recently, I’ve reintroduced myself as Tiara, my birth name. In Vegas, no one calls me Tiara or Tete; I’m either Cali or Zen. I’d be shocked to run into someone who knew me as Tete.

Anyway, you don’t know Tete.
